There was a need to refresh a visual identity that\u2014like many startup founders\u2014they had designed themselves, but changing the name was not on the table. We started by understanding the business and the challenges they\u2019d faced in positioning it. That insight, combined with the founders\u2019 vision and the team\u2019s capabilities, led us to the brand\u2019s spark: \u201ctechnology that is easy and flexible for people.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Branding<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

At that point, the old name\u2014\u201cSodLab\u201d<\/strong>\u2014came into question. Even something as simple as stating it at a client\u2019s reception desk was a challenge; people just didn\u2019t get it. So we began by choosing a new name: \u201cSimplex.\u201d<\/strong> Beyond its obvious meaning, the contained \u201cx\u201d<\/strong> comes from the Latin \u201cplex,\u201d<\/strong> meaning \u201cto fold.\u201d That led us to the world of origami, where anyone can fold a sheet of paper into something remarkable\u2014a visual metaphor for this company\u2019s ability to make technology scalable.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

These modular blocks, inspired by origami folds, can take on any shape. They can expand, contract, become a bird\u2014or the next tech solution your company needs. Visually, we chose a grayscale palette: chromatic minimalism for a truly simple brand.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
